Volunteer Co-ordinator
Under the direction and guidance of the Director of Events, this portfolio will be responsible to provide volunteer assistance to the organization in its operation and management. This will include planning the necessary steps to recruit, but not vet, various local groups of volunteers for various planned events. The incumbent will maintain and up-date a searchable list of volunteers and their particular interests and skills, and work with the Executive Team to identify volunteers. This incumbent also acknowledges that 1000 Islands Pride, Inc. volunteers need to feel valued and that they are recognized in a timely and appropriate way.
Other Qualifications for this position.
- Strong organizational skills;
- Good communication skills, including written, oral and interpersonal;
- Ability to use computers, email and similar tools;
- Ability to get along with different people; and
- A passion and a sense of humour are a definite asset.
