Under the direction and guidance of the Director of Events, this position will be responsible for organizing, the parade route, and find participants including bands, floats, and other marching groups etc., to join the annual parade.
Responsibilities will also include Plotting the parade route and line up (which entries go in which order)
Preparing and ensuring that all parade logistics including all licences, insurance, and set up and take-down of any barricade;
Preparing the assembly site the morning of the event, and directing participants on the day of the event;
Liaising with parade volunteers and supervising the day of the event.
The position will involve approximately 10 to 15 hours each month from January to June, with hours increasing each week starting in early May until the parade day.
The Parade Co-Ordinator will have the opportunity to build meaningful work relationships with a broad range of individuals from business leaders to community-oriented residents and others;
The incumbent will also be responsible for everything from traffic flow, controls, and barricades if necessary. The parade co-ordinator is a key player and therefore a lot of responsibilities are included in this position:
The Parade Co-Ordinator will also work with the Volunteers Co-Ordinator in the collecting and checking various volunteer application forms, and ensure that they are accurate and that all volunteers are suitable;
